Beykoz

Beykoz is a district in the northern Asian side of Istanbul. It is on the Anatolian side of the city. This neighborhood is in the vicinity of the Bosphorus and the Black sea. Also, This locale is one of the pleasant and peaceful areas in the city with many green spaces.

 

History

Bosphorus is always wavy because of the Black sea. In the past time, sparks in these waters were threats to anyone. No one could adventure in this stormy water without fear of blood.
The first people in this locale were Thracians and Greeks. After that, "Amikos"; was the first name of this district.
This locality is valuable in several ways. Bosphorus is always can have a fishing industry. Also, this area is one of the most strategic locations in the world. After many wars between nations like Thracians, Bithynians, Persians, Greeks, Romans, Byzantines, and finally, Turks own this land.
In 17s, 18s, and 19s centuries, factories were built in this locality that increased the industry of this location. Then some new problems as illegal housing happened in some areas. Because of this incoming issue, students had to take the boat to go to the European side for schooling.

 

Place of Interesting And Today Of Beykoz

The Bosphorus bridge is the connection way of the Asian side to the European side. Also, Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge is the road below this. The district is also reachable by boat further.
One of the classical places in this neighborhood is Küçüksu Pavilion. Furthermore, Anadoluhisarı is older than the others. These palaces were built during the Ottoman Empire; due to protect this area by Turkish armies. Another classical place in Beykoz is Khedive's Palace, which is a good choice for tourists to drink tea and rest.
Besides, there are many spectacular places nearby the coast. There are restaurants with waterfronts where many famous people come to these places.
"Beykoz Korusu" is the central park in Beykoz, where have a peaceful environment. There are a lot of aging buildings combined with Ottoman architecture and Bosphorus view.
Foods in this neighborhood are delicious, especially fish dishes. As we said before, that's because Beykoz is a powerful source in the fishing industry.
